Labour values, Co-operative action

The Co-operative Party is part of the global co-operative movement. Over 800 million people are members of co-operatives worldwide, and the UN estimates that the livelihood of three billion people is made more secure by co-operatives.

We work with Labour Party in the UK to influence its policies towards more co-operative solutions.

We believe in individual empowerment and self-help initiative.

We believe that a better share of this planet’s wealth between Northern and Southern hemispheres and a greater respect for our environment will help us build a sustainable, safer and progressive society.

Mission

The Co-opertaive Party promotes and supports co-operatives and all forms of mutual organisations that empower employees and citizens.

The Co-operative party is the second largest centre left party and has representation in both Houses of Parliament, the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh and London Assemblies, as well as several hundred local councillors.

Castle Point Co-operative Party is affiliated to Castle Point Constituency Labour Party and has representaton on that party's General Committee.
